On 19 September 2026, the historic Château du Clos de Vougeot will host the second edition of "Clos de Vougeot for Cîteaux Abbey – Act II," a prestigious charity auction bringing together the region's most celebrated wine estates in support of the restoration of the Définitoire, a remarkable 17th-century Cistercian building at the historic Cîteaux Abbey.

Following a successful fundraising campaign, an impressive 148 Burgundy domaines and wine houses have confirmed their participation, contributing exceptional wines that will form one of the most remarkable charity auction catalogues ever assembled in the region. Hosted by Christie's, the internationally renowned auction house, the event promises an unparalleled opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts to acquire rare bottles while supporting the preservation of one of Burgundy's most important cultural landmarks.

The auction will unfold in two stages. Online bidding opens on 4 September 2026, allowing participants worldwide to place bids through Christie's digital platform before culminating in the live charity auction during the Gala Dinner on 19 September at the Château du Clos de Vougeot. Open to both in-person guests and international online bidders, the event reflects Burgundy's enduring spirit of generosity and its global community of wine lovers.

The auction catalogue will feature 148 exceptional lots, showcasing an extraordinary cross-section of Burgundy's greatest appellations, including 24 Grand Cru, 19 Premier Cru, and 17 Village appellations, representing 61 distinct appellations in total. Legendary wines from some of the region's most revered producers—including Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, Domaine Coche-Dury, Domaine Leflaive, Domaine Georges Roumier, Domaine Armand Rousseau, Domaine Méo-Camuzet, Domaine Dujac, Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, and many others—will stand alongside rare cuvées and exclusive experiences donated in support of this remarkable cause.

Complementing the auction, guests attending the Gala Dinner will enjoy an exceptional five-course menu created by Executive Chef Alexandra Bouvret and her brigade.
