GEN DE ART — Issue 24

Perspectives on art, culture, and the art of making.

Our cover features Etsu Egami’s Paul Cézanne, a portrait shaped by flowing brushwork and layers of colour. It opens an issue that considers how artists and makers carry their ideas across cultures, materials, and generations.

Through our conversation with Karim Crippa about Art Basel Paris 2026 and a look ahead to Art Basel Qatar 2027, we explore the evolving geography of contemporary art. Features on Yoshitomo Nara, the National Art Center, Tokyo, and Centre Pompidou Hanwha offer further perspectives on how art is created, encountered, and shared.

From the Nobel laureates’ renewed commitment to peace at Lindau to the direction of the Olympic movement, we also consider the responsibilities that accompany international exchange. WATCH ART Milan and Geneva Watch Days bring the precision and imagination of watchmaking into focus.

In Burgundy, conversations with Henri Audiffred, Gilles Desprez at Domaine Leroy, and Vincent Mongeard turn to the harvest and the balance between continuity and change. HAKUBA at Cheval Blanc Paris and SAKE COMPETITION 2026 extend this reflection to food and sake—where skill, sensibility, and tradition find new expression.
